Thousands of Oshkosh residents and visitors will mark the 150th anniversary with a full day of activities. A 10 oclock parade opens events at the fairgrounds, followed by a packed program and a 10 pm fireworks finale.
Cuba's ambassador Ferrara says a four point sliding scale on sugar is practicable if applied moderately to price possibilities. He warns harsh tariffs to current and future prices would misuse the tool, harming Cuban and U.S. consumers, and notes most proposals fail Cuban interests.
A blast before 8 this morning wrecked the Los Angeles grain exchange offices on the fifth floor of the T. W. Hellman building at Sixth and Spring. Two other bombs were found and ignited but did not explode. Officials detained for questioning. no injuries reported as offices were vacant.
Menominee Wisconsin Earl Cummings of Ladysmith is held on 500 dollar bond after aiding his uncle Bert Cummings in escaping from the county jail. An unidentified man and Earl were allowed to speak with the prisoner outside the bullpen and the trio fled the jail unseen.
The agency warned the public with a ten point guideline. Do not rock the boat or use prohibited fireworks. Avoid unsafe depths and unexpert handling of explosives. Do not let children handle fireworks or matches. Seek medical aid for injuries and guard against tetanus.

In Sheboygan Wisconsin Elmer McWilliams was ordered to post a 500 bond to maintain peace after being accused of threatening Kelly Howell who shot McWilliams brother Armand causing his death. Howell's complaint claims McWilliams threatened him saying he would kill him. McWilliams broke down in court and said Howell killed his brother like a dirty dog. McWilliams plans to depart for Chicago after his brother's funeral as an inquest into Armand McWilliams death is set for Friday.
Denver reports ban on camp fires as Allen S. Peck orders restrictions across five states due to dry winds and low moisture. Firefighters struggle through Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma as fires threaten hundreds of thousands of acres and water shortages loom for irrigation districts. In California, mountain fires near Santa Clara valley are the worst in years with over 2,000 acres burned and 500 firefighters on two fronts. Morgan Hill and Alma areas see rapid spread and residential losses.
Mrs. Josephine Busse, once labeled the first lady of Chicago, lost a political post yesterday after thirteen years but was told today her dismissal was an error. She returned to work and expected reinstatement once the corporation counsel returns to the city.

The flight from Chicago to Berlin, sponsored by The Chicago Tribune, continued toward Two Rivers and Milwaukee with plans to cross to Remi Lake and on to Greenland and Teeland.
In Chicago Frankin Hardinge 62 resisted a 250000 breach suit brought by Ann Livingston 29 seeking not only most of his estate at death but 25000 to 50000 dollars in cash before marriage. Testimony shows Livingston and Charles Max suspected romance as Hardinge's case moved to trial with misstress accusations and witness accounts.

A marble Minn. youth, William Plummer, 22, died after a motorcycle skid near Fremont within Winnebago county. Investigators found the machine left the road and skidded 250 feet. no sprint or holdup incident was substantiated. Plummer, on his way to Chicago, died at Christofferson hospital after a skull fracture.

He sails aboard the Duchess with Mrs Mayo for Manchester to attend a British Medical Society convention.
