Wile Lian Sorenson a 4 Kenosha tinsmith was fatally injured when his car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of highway 9 and 41 west of here. The Sorenson car overturned but Mrs Sorenson escaped with cuts and bruises Reginald Howell 37 of Cleveland Heights Ohio was held pending inquest.

Central and eastern Kentucky storms forced more than twenty families from their homes and washed out several bridges. Carlisle and Brushy Fork areas saw rapid flooding damaging around fifty dwellings and basements of businesses. Lightning killed a 20 year old, Benjamin Powers, at his grandparents home. Damages rose to about 100000 in Ovingaville Bath County and Licking River flooded further. Paintsville reports about 10000 in damages.
A wife in Connecticut received a telegram from her husband Gregory Gregory who was believed drowned after the Sea Sled capsized near Cornfield Point Lightship. The telegram placed him in Halifax Nova Scotia and did not reference the accident or Sachs. Gregory and Sachs had left West Mystic for New York aboard the Sea Sled.
