Lake Rescue Ends in Two Deaths Near Stratton Lake
Two men die in Stratton Lake tragedy near Waupaca as 42 year old Oshkosh resident Jack Measure drowns while attempting to rescue 17 year old Glen Krisel of Appleton. Krisel had trouble while swimming after arriving at the lake. Measure, a WWII Marine veteran, was unmarried and worked at Kimberly Clark in Neenah. He left a mother, one brother, and three sisters as survivors. Krisel, a Hortonville High senior, lived with his parents and siblings. Services for Measure are planned at St. Peter Church with a memorial fund. Krisel will be buried at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellington with funeral arrangements at Wichmann Funeral Home.

Tests Reveal Death Caused by Alcoholism
Madison AP report states Robert Lantzer of Mazomanie died at Central State Hospital Waupun from liver brain and lung damage due to chronic alcoholism. Lantzer had been jailed for a mental exam after being charged with second degree murder in his wife's death. An autopsy and lab tests confirmed the cause.

Fire Destroyed Building In Sheboygan South Side
A stubborn general alarm fire swept a two story brick and frame building on the south side early today in Sheboygan Wisconsin. The Quarty Metal Polishing Co and a Sheboygan Paper Box Co warehouse were damaged by flames feeding on paper and boxes. Fire Chief Roderick Beyerstedt said damage exceeded $50 000 and the blaze may take two days to control. The 4 30 a m blaze destroyed the structure owned by Overlander and Kroeff Corp with no injuries reported.
