West Allis Man Perishes in Fire
A West Allis man, Arnold O. Krause, 38, died after a Thursday house fire. Firefighters forced entry. he was dead on arrival at a hospital. He suffered burns and smoke inhalation. Ban on Railroad Strikes Extended Until March Sixteen
Washington US District Judge Alexander Holtzoff extended a ban on strikes by three rail unions against 85 western and southern railroads to March 16. The temporary restraining order was issued with attorney agreement as Holtzoff weighs whether the expiration of a federal arbitration award lets railroads keep crew reductions in effect after January 24. The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Switchmen's Union and Order of Railroad Conductors and Trainmen had threatened to strike over the issue.

Priority Assured For Arms Orders In Viet Nam Buildup
Washington AP Economic advisers told President Johnson that peacetime allocation would ensure priority for military orders over civilian production during the 15 billion Viet Nam buildup. The council says defense outlays will be 7.6 percent of national output in 1966 and 1967, only slightly higher than 7.3 percent in earlier years, and no expansion of control powers is planned when the Defense Production Act is renewed. The DMS, run by the Commerce Department, has long prioritized defense contracts for metals and materials.

Dies of Injury From Fall In Barn Hay Chute
Arthur Kuppernus, 66, of Rt. 1 New London, died at New London Community Hospital from injuries after falling 12 feet through a hay chute in his barn at 5 p.m. Thursday. Outagamie County Coroner Bernard H. Kemps ruled a basal skull fracture as the cause. Body remains at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London.

Fire destroys St. Johns Lutheran Church Nekimi area
Early today a blaze gutted the 90 year old St. Johns Lutheran Church in Nekimi destroying the church building the Sun day school unit from 1961 and a nearby two story parsonage. Pastor Rev. Raymond Poff said insured value was 85 000 but total loss including furnishings tops 150 000. Neighbors woke the Poff family around 4 15 am as flames spread from rear to front of the church. The parsonage was threatened and ignited within 15 minutes. Mrs. Oscar Hemminghaus nearby reported the fire.
