Special to The Northwestern reports John Coyne Spooner of Madison elected to the United States Senate for a third term by the Wisconsin legislature in joint session. The vote was 72 to 7 for Neal Brown, with Spooner receiving unanimous Republican support. Spooner thanked lawmakers, praised the party, and pledged loyalty to US and Wisconsin Republican traditions.
