Rash of Viet Nam attacks before Tet cease fire
Communist forces killed 21 Americans and wounded 137 in attacks across South Vietnam in the 36 hours before the Tet cease-fire. U.S. bases at Lai Khe An Khe Holloway Phu Bai and Khe Sanh saw fighting as Marines and Army units faced mortars and ambushes. A U.S. convoy near Khe Sanh was ambushed. 8 Marines were killed 44 wounded and three enemy bodies were counted. A Wisconsin serviceman Gunnery Sgt Melvin L Rimel was killed in action.

Bond Issue Resolution Reached For 1.3 Million
The Oshkosh Common Council directed City Atty John Pence to draft an initial resolution for a 1.3 million bond issue to fund capital improvements this year. A vote is expected in about three weeks. Farm Barn Fire Kills Forty Head Of Livestock

Fire chief Potratz said 35 firefighters battled the flames, originating possibly from a heat lamp used for piglets.
