Fairgrounds Fire Damages Model Home
A fire heavily damaged the model home at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds on Wednesday night, possibly set by vandals. Firemen from Oshkosh and the Town of Oshkosh contained the blaze in about ten minutes. The home owned by Wickfield Homes of Marshfield was built last summer for display at the 1967 fair.

Boll seeks new trial for Alfonsi
Dane County District Attorney James Boll formally requests that Assemblyman Paul Alfonsi be retried on a bribery charge. He wrote to Circuit Judge Norris Maloney proposing a new trial next month. Bid to move Winnebago County tower awarded to Berg and Hein
Berg and Hein Company of Appleton submitted the sole bid of 125000 to relocate the Winnebago County Airport air traffic control tower. Joseph Abernathy said the state aeronautics division would study the bid, with a decision likely in one to two months. A second bid arrived late and will be rejected. The plan calls for moving the 880 ton tower between May and August 1968, on tracks with air tires, not during freezing ground. A temporary FAA mobile tower will function during the move, set about 300 feet southeast of the current structure. The existing tower, built in 1961 and used since 1962, stands 60 feet high near the east-west runway.
