Subzero Weather Stretches Across Wisconsin and Michigan
The Milwaukee weather bureau forecasts continued subzero temperatures across Wisconsin and upper Michigan with little relief before Monday. High pressure downplays a new cold wave, but remains unusually large as temperatures fall to 25 degrees below zero in northern areas. A fourth death linked to the cold, Beloit veteran William Satterlee, 58, was found frozen in his bed. Traffic runs near normal amid the cold as trains arrive in Milwaukee with minor delays. Wickersham dies at 78 former A G of Taft era
George W. Wickersham former attorney general of the United States died suddenly in a taxicab at age 78 in New York City. He had entered a taxi at Forty eighth Street and Park Avenue to be taken to Fifty third Street and Fifth Avenue. An ambulance was called and the physician pronounced him dead. Henry W. Taft identified the body at West Forty seventh Street police station. He previously led Hoover's national law enforcement commission and urged penal reforms and relaxation of Prohibition.

An 8 year old farmer and his 21 year old son Henry Ehlert died in a blaze trapping them in their farm home twelve miles north of Fairmont. The farmer's wife suffered serious injuries from exposure after assisting them to safety.

Rehearing Ordered On Chicago Time Zone Change
The Interstate Commerce Commission ordered a rehearing on Chicago’s demand to move from the central to the eastern time zone.
