Train Hits Car Kills Me nasha Infant on Crossing
Seven month old Sandra Ellen Gauger, daughter of Tyrone and Diana Gauger of Menasha, was killed instantly when a Soo Line freight train traveling 55 mph struck the family car stalled on a crossing two and a half miles north of Oshkosh. The mother, 21, was driving north on Sherman Road and left the baby on the back seat to fetch help. Coroner Arthur C. Miller cited multiple skull fractures. The wreck scattered the car over 1,788 feet. seven cars were on the train. Sandra was born July 3, 1962. survivors include her parents and sister Marilyn. Services scheduled at Spikes, McDonald and Harvard Funeral Home in Oshkosh.
