St Vincent parents hold their mid winter meeting at 8 PM Wednesday January 24 in the band room with Donald Tripp presiding. Steve K Roehl has graduated from the 334 hour Aviation Structural Mechanics School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis Tennessee.

The First English Lutheran Church ushers held a Thursday dinner in the Brotherhood meeting with 150 years of service acknowledged for Lester Wachholtz James Fierke Walter Rosanske Norman Olson and Clarence Miller Wally Crober four years as head usher Russell Carlson of the American Red Cross demonstrated first aid procedures and the Brotherhood scheduled a Feb 22 father son banquet with Rev L Olson chalk talk artist tickets sold by pastors. The Brotherhood also purchased a canoe for a church camp.

Charles Kenneth Shannon 26 of 741 Carver Lane was arraigned in Winnebago County Court on five counts of taking indecent liberties with minors at St Mary School Menasha and one count of operating a motor vehicle without owner consent. Bond set at 12500 10000 for indecent liberties and 2500 for auto without consent. case adjourned to Jan 23 for counsel. Shannon arrested Wednesday by Menasha police.

Power Pole Crash Injures 16 Year Old Driver
A 1965 vehicle sustained $250 damage when a 16 year old driver leaving Copps Department Store in Oshkosh hit a power pole on West Ninth Avenue after failing to stop at a stop sign. The car sped across the street and struck the pole. the driver, Jack T Bartelt, was not injured. Police were alerted at 4:16 pm.

Eagles Initiation Class Honors Justice Hansen in Oshkosh
Oshkosh Aerie No. 267 held a class initiation at the Eagles Club for Supreme Court Justice Robert Hansen. Hansen, Milwaukee origin and former national president, will be honored January 30 with the Wisconsin Eagle of the Year Award at an Eagles Jam boree in Milwaukee. January is set aside for Hansen’s contributions. Initiating were Harold Russell and fellow Eagles degree committee members. After the meeting, the aemé discussed the February state dart ball tournament in Oshkosh.

Local Youth Surrenders To FBI Charge
A 19 year old Oshkosh resident surrendered to police after learning of a federal warrant for interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle. Lawrence E. Cartwright of 685 Jefferson St was arrested and jailed. A federal marshal was due to arrive to take charge of the prisoner. Details of the charge were not disclosed.
