Six Die in Louisiana House Fire in Melville
A mother and five children perished when flames destroyed their three room frame home in Melville Louisiana. Husband Charlie Tunwar 52 was severely burned. Police identified the victims as Mrs Tunwar Elsie Bobby May Charles Jr Mary Ann and Rosemary. The fire started when Tunwar poured kerosene on hot coals in an old stove during bitterly cold weather.

Fire Claims At Least 25 In Night Club Tragedy
A five story building housing a theater and night club caught fire and trapped cabaret girls on the upper floors. Police found 25 bodies on the fourth and fifth floors as others remained stuck in a jammed elevator between the third and fourth floors. A fireman and a restaurant employee also died. About 300 people escaped from the theater as flames blocked stairways and the elevator failed from power loss.

Wisconsin teen confesses to patental killings after crash
An 11 year old boy from Slippery Rock Pennsylvania told state authorities he killed his parents after a minor traffic crash in Wisconsin.
