Special to The Northwestern Fond du Lac Wisconsin January 14 Aunt Louisa widow of Uncle Billy Jones a relic of slavery days and a noted character of Fond du Lac’s colored colony for about 50 years dies at about 100 years She and Uncle Billy were central figures in the community and her age is debated She was born in slavery in West Virginia sold to North Carolina and came to Fond du Lac in 1865 with a group of about 100 black settlers Her funeral is set for Saturday at 2 pm at the M E Zion church in Fond du Lac.
Pittsburg January 14 The US court resumed as Attorney F P Iams began his address for J B F Rinehart former cashier and VP of Farmers and Drovers National Bank Waynesburg charged with wrecking the bank Two years into trial the courtroom was crowded with the defendant's wife and son present for the first time since January 4 The case to the jury this afternoon Iams argued about age society and government spending on secret civic work versus education.
Washington D C January 14 Special to The Northwestern reports General Boardman and Major Williams attended a National Association for the Promotion of Life practice meeting in Incheon. Chanier Fordman and Mrs Boardman were among guests hosted by Senator Boardman. The narrative mentions a forthcoming meat and a secret context surrounding the event.
Benjamin F. Shively won the Indiana Democratic caucus on the twentieth ballot, defeating John W. Kern after a long struggle. The race involved transfers from L. Ert Slack and alliances among Kern Lamb and Slack, with Shively backed by Crawford Fairbanks and temperance allies. Shively, a long-time Indiana political figure, will serve as United States senator after strong support from both parties in South Bend and statewide enthusiasm as he prepares for his return from Indianapolis.
Parla January 14 Duke Pompeo Lifts of Tambardy met Italian ambassador Aignor Gallina and offered to donate part of a large tract in Manatee County Florida to colonize 5 000 Calabria Sicily earthquake survivors. The ambassador has relayed the proposal to the Italian government.

Mrs H M Yanke of 220 Tigh Street was badly injured Monday afternoon when a coal hole cover gave way outside the Uijau theater on Main Street. She suffered internal injuries and severe bruises, was unconscious, treated by Dr. Nell Andrews, and confined to bed for two days.
Bishop Grafton of Fond du Lac Wisconsin will depart early next week for an eastern mission. He will base in Baltimore with time in New York where he will preach at St Edward the Martyr church. On February 10 he attends a bishops meeting in New York to elect two missionary bishops.
After a twenty four hour deliberation the jury returned a guilty verdict against Stuart Jellem in the Jelleff case. The judge criticized jurors for not agreeing earlier and ordered further instructions as the term continues.
Reading of the Mineral Point case opens with nitroglycerin and other items found in the defendant’s possession.
