By Associated Press Pittsburg January 14 Thousands of dollars of property are endangered as an ice jam in the Allegheny River near the city center drives ice floes downstream. The hardest hit area reports river surge and growing debris risk to docks and waterfront structures.
A Philadelphia briefing reports Republican leaders, including Senator Hanna, touring West Philadelphia to inspect the convention hall. Hanna states the ticket will be McKinley’s renomination and stresses prosperity for workers and retention of the Philippines as central campaign themes.

Also noted Miss Frieda Schmidt of Green Bay former language teacher at Neenah High School visited friends, and Miss Mery Hamilton becomes language teacher at Neenah High School replacing ill Miss Margaret McGregor who is in Stevens Point with typhoid pneumonia.
Wensel Eigner aged 78 dies Friday evening at home 34 Fifth Street born Bohemia resident eight years in the city. Survived by four daughters one son and widow. Funeral Monday morning from St Vincent church Oregon Street. Also notices David Webster Jr funeral held today at ten from Mr Johns church. Olga Timm burned near stove died Friday. funeral Sunday afternoon at crelock from Sellepy son avenue residence.
