Oshkosh man dies in porch fire from lighter fluid spill
Herbert C. Hamann 84 of 719 Grove St Oshkosh died in a porch fire caused by lighter fluid spilling as he refilled a lighter. Coroner Duane Waore cited exhaustion and exposure and a possible heart condition. He was found by Oshkosh firefighters shortly after 3 p.m. with extensive trunk burns. Services set for Saturday at Konrad Funeral Home with burial at Lake View Memorial Park.

In Janesville Wisconsin authorities ruled the deaths of Doris Dolphin 35 and Donald G Gates 32 as murder death by own action. A .22 caliber revolver was found on the bedroom floor at Dolphin’s home where police had been called. Gates shot Dolphin and then himself shortly after midnight Wednesday.
