Coal stove blast kills two in La Crosse home
A mother Lawrence Mahlum and her 10 year old daughter Joyce died from burns after a coal stove exploded in their La Crosse Wisconsin home late yesterday. Three other children were seriously burned including Russell 16 Leona 14 and Louis 4 who was not expected to live. The father was at work Lloyd 18 escaped injury. The mother had returned from shopping to find the house chilly and poured kerosene on smoldering coals.
