The Agriculture Department reports August 25 condition at 78 percent of normal, with total production on track to reach about 15,090,000 bales gross weight. Experts interpret this as 1,365,000 bales above July forecasts due to excellent growing conditions across the cotton belt.
Neenah Wisconsin August 31 report that the Hotel Neenah known as the Russell House has been sold to B Grove and E B Jandry both of Neenah. The purchasers plan to raze the building within a year and erect a modern five story dry goods establishment. The sale price was not announced. The landmark sits at the corner of Commercial Street and Wisconsin Avenue in the central district.

The letters demanded $5,000 and referenced a midnight gathering at a water tank, with investigators noting distinctive paper and fingerprint evidence. The suspect was taken to Appleton and will face U S court proceedings in Milwaukee.
Voters are urged to participate in the primary with polling places changed in Sixth ward at 581 Sixth Street and in Seventh ward at 245 Merritt Street. Machines will not be used due to ballot complexity. polls open at dawn and close at dusk for a 14 hour voting window. Bond issues in Oshkosh include 165000 for high school enlargement and 20000 for cemetery land, with separate pink ballots for women on the high school question.

Manitowoc Wisconsin report confirms the death of David Fitzgerald former county schoolteacher. He was killed by lightning in South Dakota last night while teaching there the past year. He and his wife had visited Manitowoc two weeks ago.
Special report from Sheboygan Wisconsin Aug 31 describes four people injured when a automobile failed to negotiate a Lakeview Street bar and splashed into it. All occupants escaped with minor injuries. Police arrived and closed the scene as wreckage was cleared.

Heinrich Maron of Winneconne Wisconsin died yesterday morning at his home aged fifty five. Born in Germany he came to this country in 1882 and is survived by two daughters Alma Marohn of Winneconne and Mrs Robert Umrandt of South Hapids Minnesota and four sons Emil Henry Karl and Frederick Maron all of Winneconne. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 45 pm at the residence and 2 pm at the German Lutheran ChurchRev O D Hoyer officiating Internment will be in the village cemetery.
