Belgium warns of possible war as 4HMS and supplies move to frontier posts to deter invasion by Germany and France. A military council chaired by General Hellebaut discussed neutrality safeguards and wartime measures, including bridge blowups and railway destruction.
The National Beekeepers association held its annual convention in Minneapolis with several hundred delegates welcomed by Mayor J C Haynes. Prominent attendees included Dr. Burton W Gates of Massachusetts, Jacob Huffman of Wisconsin, F Debant of Illinois, N i France of Platteville Wisconsin, M E Darby Missouri bee inspector, Franklin Wilcox of Mauston Wisconsin, and Mrs W S Wingate of Excelsior Minnesota. Minnesota and Colorado each reported strong honey production for the year.
A Northwestern railway collision in Janesville Minnesota? yards left one man in Mercy hospital in critical condition with concussion and internal injuries. Ten others were shaken and injured. H W Gilmore of Miles City Montana aged seventy four suffered stomach concussion and internal injuries. Frank M Tack an institute conductor at River Falls Normal school was in a demolished car and slightly injured. Mr Jack formerly principal of South Division High School in Milwaukee was also involved.
Wisconsin employers especially in hazardous occupations will get books or blank accident reports from the industrial commission next week. The commission must collect complete data on accidents from all employers with four or more workers for statistical purposes and to aid workmen's compensation actuarial needs.

A revenue cutter Yamacraw answered his call and rescued forty four crew and passengers, while two firemen were reported dead and a third injured. Captain Connally led efforts at the wheel as the ship bucked eighty mile an hour gusts and massive seas. The Lexington lies in eighteen feet of water. the wrecking effort continues with extensive damage to Charleston area facilities.
Special to The Northwestern reports Chief Clancy plans to testify that firemen acted on orders from Former Mayor David Rose, who headed the treasurer’s office. It is alleged a fund was raised among firemen to pay for the chief’s defense, with some saying money was used to curry favor and not disclosed. Assistant Chief Willian de Young may testify about a $250 fund for destroying expenses.
