R. H. Moon, a teller at an all night bank, was arrested in Los Angeles on a charge of ambesslement. Prosecutors allege he stole $25,000 from the George F. Tasett company. Moon claimed the arrest was warrant-driven and described his actions as spite work.
In London on August 29 the body of Gen William Booth was buried beside his wife Catherine at Abney Park cemetery. Delegates from royal, republican, and international bodies attended, including the United States, as thousands gathered for the Salvation Army founder's funeral. A mile long procession wound through muddy streets to the cemetery, where hymns, prayers, and speeches marked the tribute.
Caroline Beers of Greenville Ohio aged forty was arrested by Pittsburg detectives at the Southern hotel while waiting for President Taft. Two long knives concealed in her clothing and a photograph of Taft on a knife handle were found. She claimed to be the president wife and said she came to punish him. A $200 bill was found on her. The market’s indebtedness after heavy discounting is seen aiding the central bank in enforcing the higher rate.

An Undersheriff reports she seized a three ounce carbolic acid bottle from her mother in juvenile court and later admitted taking it to avoid dying by her own hand. Her claimed motive involves threats by a supposed friend and anxiety over the school placement.
Columbia Aug 29 Allegations claim more ballots were cast for governor in Tuesday's Democratic primary than registered voters statewide. Chairman Gary Evans and the state executive committee plan an investigation and possible recount. The vote reportedly exceeds the record by 30 000 with estimates of about 20 000 more votes than in any other race.
