Public Invited to New Pleasant Acres Dedication
A new four story Pleasant Acres Skilled Nursing Home in Winnebago County will be dedicated September 10 at 2 p.m. Wilbur J. Schmidt of the State Health and Social Services Department will speak, with tours to follow at 3 p.m. The facility will house 240 residents, double the old building, and some residents will move in on one to three floors after completion. A Dixieland band will entertain and open house for families is planned around Thanksgiving. The project, funded by a bond issue of 2,500,000 dollars, involved a large committee and multiple contractors across Wisconsin, with Ben B. Ganther Company serving as general contractor.
