President hopeful Dwight D. Eisenhower told the American Legion that the United States faces unprecedented peril from Soviet aggression and urged a strong warning to Moscow. He spoke at Madison Square Garden to Legion delegates and planned a broad security program to counter Soviet expansion.
Eisenhower and Stevenson will speak at Madison Square Garden this week. Eisenhower opens with a 2 15 p m EST talk while Stevenson addresses Legionnaires Wednesday at 12 15 p m and follows with a 5 p m speech at the New Jersey Democratic State Convention in Asbury Park. Stevenson also attends New York conventions and camps in Springfield. Eisenhower planned NY week with leaders and a parade march with Nixon leading Kan sas delegation. Sparkman, Democratic vice presidential nominee, will be in Washington today and tomorrow and speaks at Missippi and Michigan events Thursday and Saturday.
A four engine British civilian cargo York crashed six miles west of Berlin in the Soviet zone. The flight engineer was killed while the pilot and navigator escaped unharmed and returned to West Berlin. Russians agreed to allow recovery of the wreckage likely today. The plane chartered by Bern city government carried freight to Hamburg.
Mississippi and Oklahoma are the only states still banning liquor statewide. Voters in Mississippi will choose five members of Congress and decide whether to permit county by county liquor sales in a referendum held with the Democratic primary tomorrow.

West Palm Beach Florida Scoutmaster D D Desvergers says his hair singed by a flying saucer during a Everglades outing. He spoke of an aerial craft hovering over him and a burn that singed his hair and burned holes in his Scout cap before he fainted. An Air Force officer said the incident was referred to Wright Field for study.
