Sacco and Vanzetti Die in Charlestown Electric Chair
Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, radicals, were executed in the Charlestown state prison after a seven year legal fight. Sacco proclaimed innocence and shouted Viva l Anarchia as Vanzetti spoke of innocence and farewell to family. The killings they were convicted for occurred in South Braintree on April 15, 1920, with paid out $15,776.51 to the paymaster and guard.
