Five year old Linda Bartolomeo clutched a gift bear on a cot after being rescued from a tree above the Farmington River in Connecticut. A volunteer rescuer swam for help after a boat capsize. Linda asked for her missing dog as flood waters receded.
Seven year old Georgia Lee Mulcahy guided her four younger sisters and brother from a burning Madison home as a child playing with matches started the blaze. Fire officials praised her courage and presence of mind amid the rescue.
John Peeters 13 son of Mr and Mrs Paul M Peeters 804 Main Neenah died Sunday morning at Theda Clark Hospital from polio. Born Sept 21 1941 in Neenah he belonged to Holy Society of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church CYO and was senior altar boy. Burial in St Margarets Cemetery funeral Tuesday at 8:30 am from Kessler Funeral Home and 9 o'clock at St Margaret Mary's Church.
