Dum Dum Bullets Reported Found Near Kinister Alsace

Paris reports the government notified signatories of The Hague that on August 10 after a skirmish five dum-dum bullets were found on a road near Kinister in Alsace. The bullets were given to the French commander as other dum-dum rounds recovered from French soldiers killed in action were sent to the minister of war.

War risk bill faces opposition in House

Washington August 2 opposition to the administration war risk bill developed in the house today as Republican Leader Mann blocked immediate consideration. An effort will be made to bring the bill up early next week. Meanwhile commerce committee senators predicted the government purchase of ocean-going snipe would be perfected and passed next week.

Ship St Louis Arrives After Dark Passenger Request

A radiogram from the health officer reports the liner St Louis arriving after sundown would be waived for examination. The ship sailed from Liverpool August 15 with many American reservists and is expected to land Saturday night. Passengers request courtesy due to discomfort from loss of baggage abroad.
