Eleven-Year-Old Injured At Lake Angeline Mine Near Marquette

The eleven-year-old son of Patrick Shea suffered a severe injury at the Lake Angeline mine when he rode a hoisting wire rope and was drawn into the sheave. Warned repeatedly to stop, he did not heed. Doctors expect the boy to recover.

American Spirit Company formed to regulate whiskey trade

The Western Export Association dissolved and transformed into the American Spirit Company with 67 of 75 members present. Distilleries will be urged to join the new chartered pool to tighten production and price controls, replacing looser rules of the old body.

Ku Klux Kucklun Terrorizes Dalton Georgia Band of Men

Reports from Dalton Georgia describe a midnight Ku Klux raid by about fifty masked men who dragged women from Mrs. Jane Kidd’s boarding house, torturing and beating several. Tom Carver was beaten to death and Armstead gravely injured while others were warned to flee. Local crews could not identify the assailants as the mob enforced its menace. In Wisconsin a separate scene near Groceriton involved mortgage foreclosure on Dugar Wood stock with clashes before an amiable settlement.
