Funeral of Rev Roman Schulter at St Marys Draws 75 Priests
The remains of Rev. Roman Schulter, pastor for 33 years at St Marys in Oshkosh, were laid to rest in a cement vault built into the church basement. More than 75 priests, led by Bishop J Fox of Green Bay, attended the service, with 53 staying for a dinner served by the congregation. The ceremony featured a solemn requiem and a funeral sermon by Rev John Himmel, with tribute from the Rt Rev T Fox.

Bells Toll at Altar to Basment Interment Draws Large Crowd
From the altar to the basement the solemn Miserere sounded as eight Alexian brothers bore the remains from the hospital on Jackson Street. Bishop Fox led the committal beneath the church while the choir provided music. Ushers handed out memoriam cards bearing Rev. Roma Schulter as 1,200 inside the church and about 400 in the basement watched the interment. A large priestly gathering attended the service and a lengthy dinner followed with many clergy from Green Bay Kaukauna Ambry Appleton and other locales listed among attendees.

Appleton Debuts Combined Patrol Wagon Ambulance
The city of Appleton received a newly built and painted combined motor patrol wagon and ambulance from Oshkosh this afternoon. Built by Thomas Neville, it is larger than the Oshkosh vehicle, painted black with red and gilt "Department of Police" lettering, and screened with brass wire. Inside are full-length seats, an invalid's basket, springs, and weather curtains. Officers Mack and Desigen oversaw delivery and Chief Dowling praised the machine as "just fine" and requested immediate backing into the patrol station.

City seeks instant service patrol vehicle for rapid response
