Girl Is Killed In Car Crash Near Sturgeon Bay

A teenage girl, Joan Stauber, 14, of rural Sturgeon Bay was killed when the car she rode in left a curve on Highway 42 and struck a utility pole eight miles north of Sturgeon Bay. Three other teenagers were injured in the Monday night crash. Wisconsin’s 1965 traffic toll stood at 586, compared with 673 a year ago.

Airlift to Japan to evade Typhoon Mary evacuation plan

Redistricting Plan Adopted for Winnebago County Board

Winnebago County supervisors approved a redistricting plan in August to equalize representation on future county boards. Voters will elect 47 supervisors from 45 districts next April, replacing the old 52 member town chairmen and ward system. Four Hunters Die in Oak Island Treasure Shaft Gas

Four treasure seekers died and two escaped after being overcome by gas in a 27 foot shaft on Oak Island Nova Scotia. The victims were Robert Restall 59 of Hamilton Ontario his son Robert Je 24 Cyril Hultz 22 of Martins Point NS and Karl Graeser about 40 a mineralo gist from Massapequa New York. A fifth man was pulled unconscious and two others climbed to safety before succumbing. Restall believed he had found a key to tunnels where Captain Kidd hid treasure valued between 30 million and 200 million.
