Bread Tax Dropped From Farm Measure
Washington AP reports the House will take up the administration farm bill after a decision to drop the so called bread tax. The Treasury will bear higher payments to wheat growers, a move aimed at appeasing big city Democrats and aiding President Johnson for one more legislative victory. Congressman Harold D. Cooley calls it a removal of the bread tax. Conferees including Secretary Orville Freeman and Lawrence O Brien also agreed to four cotton section changes.

Collision on Curve Kills Three near Neillsville
