Lake Winnebago lake fly program receives federal grant
The University of Wisconsin will receive slightly more than 21000 for the Lake Winnebago lake fly research and control program, with 1961 and 1962 grants planned. Dr Ernest A Strakosch of Oshkosh announced that NIH funds will boost UW and Oshkosh State College entomologists’ work, expanding the program and adding a marine chemistry and insect control section led by Dr William Husenhoff. The grant supports chemical analyses of water and mud and aims to broaden the study toward practical control measures, with annual progress reports to be issued by the UW OSC team under Dr Robert Dicke.
