A group claiming descent from Benjamin Franklin seeks the Philadelphia and Boston funds once bequeathed to printers and artisans. The heirs allege the money, originally about 100 pounds sterling per city with interest, was not used as intended and total claims may reach around 310 pounds. Descendants Benjamin Franklin Barbe Walter Toot and Mrs Fine are among the claimants aided by attorney support.
Wiber force Ogden, a young divinity student from Chatham New Jersey who vanished August 4 was found in his father's barn. A long time Badger born 1846 he served in the Forty eighth Congress and has been active in state and national party affairs. Dane county conventions endorse Jones and name delegates including ex Senator Vilas and ex Mayor Rogers.
Pittsvareg Pa August 14 Rev Dr M M Sweeney pastor of Bellevue Methodist Episcopal church Bellevue Pa cont sided suicide last night at his residence by cutting his wrists. Dr Sweeney had a stroke two weeks ago and it is thought he was temporarily deranged.
In Buenos Aires a Paraguayan government statement says it formally recognizes the Republic of Cuba and accepts the United States consul at Asunción as Cuba's representative in Paraguay.

The body of Senator James McMillan, who ed sued last Sunday in Manchester, Massachusetts, arrived in Detroit at No. 513 Jefferson Avenue aboard the Boston and Maine funeral car attached to the Michigan Central special. Officials and citizens lined the station as the casket, flanked by American beauty roses, was driven to the McMillan home where it lay in state this afternoon amid crowds of mourners and friends.
BerlinWisconsin August council granted Oxkosh Gas Light a thirty year nonexclusive gas franchise for the city. The ordinance toped an initial fifty year exclusive term after protests from residents and the Berlin Lighting, Heating and Power company, which was denied speaking time, while a Chicago applicant withdrew.
