Presidents selected for two colleges at state regents meeting
Rexford Mitchell of Lawrence college was named president of La Crosse State Teachers College and E T Smith of Stevens Point Teachers College was chosen for that institution. Mitchell, 43, succeeds the late George Snodgrass, and Smith previously led Stevens Point history. Mitchell is a Lawrence alum and longtime faculty member with a strong record in speech and forensics. his wife Muriel Larson is also a Lawrence graduate. They have two daughters.

Plane crash at Langley Field injures none of two aboard
