Chicago, Aug 11 Associated Press reports W I Meyers owner of a shooting gallery killed three members of his household and himself with four shots. Victims: W J Meyers 40, Cottage Grove Ave. Grace Meyers 25, wife. Ralph Meyers 7, son. F S Bouton 55, father of Mrs Meyers. Policeman Dennis O’Neil found the scene. no witnesses.
In Pittston Pa on August 11 thirteen year old Catherine Bok killed Pasquale Rolpe aged eighteen by creeping up and striking him with an axe at his door. Witnesses saw the murder and she confessed to police. Bok was jailed in Wilmerding on murder charges.

Peter Boyd of St Louis was killed by a St Charles police officer during a third hold up in the suburb. Cecil Herzog of St Louis was arrested after confessing. Boyd was nineteen and Herzog seventeen.
After a decade of work on the New York public library a reader would see walls removed a facade rising and a distant peristyle forming. Masons lay sidewalks and the building grows toward completion with desks and wood carvings inside and a monument planned in the rear yard. The library will not open in summer but spring will reveal more books and progress.
Chicago dispatch reports the Knights Templar choose Denver as site for the next triennial conclave. Eminent Sir William Melish named grand commander. other officers elected. only contest for grand junior warden. Candidate list includes W Chamberlain and L New among others. campaign ongoing as officiers move up.
The competition is concluded with final drills in Indianapolis. Classes include class 2 for Cook county commanderies and class 3 for Tveis commanderies.
Special to The Milwaukee Journal from Beloit Wisconsin reports Ace Scott Inman of Clinton has accepted a post as director of music at Kobe College in Japan. The position is provided by the American Board of Foreign Missions. Mrs Inman is a Clinton native.
Mezieres France Aug 13 M Le Blanc led the cross country air race for a third leg from Nancy to Mezieres covering 99.36 miles. Aubrun and Lecagneu stayed in contention after two laps as Lind painter quit due to heavy rain. A violent storm disrupted pursuers at the start, charts were blown away, and Mezieres weathered hazy skies before the Meuse River path guided the winner.
Associateed report describes Wendling's removal from a train car at Flora then transfer to an automobile headed toward Olney. Captain Carney plus accomplice fled with Wendling aiming for Vincennes or Princeton routes to reach Louisville by nightfall. Ex Attorney General Alicke spoke at Appleton, echoing Stalwart lines.

Cards announce the marriage of Bass Carel Greenway Pollard to Air. Charies Chieter Langber of Sioux City. Mrs. Pollard is daughter of D W Pollard. Pollard formerly homesteaded at Green Lake and David Greenway founded and ran Oakwood hotel. Dave Pollard was a conductor on the Paul railways before moving to Sioux City about twenty years ago. The wedding occurred at Green Lake with families present.
