F C Stewart elected president and Arthur Ehrman secretary head the Beyan Kern club formed Monday night in the Democratic rooms Algoma block. J A Finelieh is vice president FB Celger treasurer. About fifty men attended. thirty five signed active membership. A constitution was adopted and weekly meetings set for Mondays with an executive committee chosen by the president and officers. William Bryan spoke by phonograph for the Democrats.

The common council met briefly to award the Jackson street improvement contract from Algom to West Irving. Andrews Asphalt Paving of Harmittien, O was chosen at 241 dollars per square yard over Barber Asphalt. Vote 20 to 3. absent were Kloeckner Jang and Davis. opponents Hagens Lett and Baler offered no reasons.
