Congress Leaders Strive to Break Jam Jury Frees Joseph Pliner

Madison reports former Stoughton policeman Joseph Pliner was acquitted of first degree murder in the death of Paul Kraby after a six day trial. The circuit court jury with ten men and two women delivered the verdict amid spectator demonstrations. Judge A G Zimmermann concurred, noting he did not blame the crowd. Four Wisconsin Cities Plan Wool Comforter Project

Milwaukee will join Marinette Lancaster and Crandon in a state emergency relief effort to sew wool comforters. Bruce Uthus, works director of the state emergency relief administration, announced today that three carloads of wool have arrived from the Federal Surplus Commodity Corporation, with four more due. The current shipment totals 30,090 pounds of wool, enough for about 10,090 comforters, and the state has been allotted 100,000 yards of soft ramforter covering for the project, to be sewn at local sewing centers.

Body of Perrot Boy Found in River

The body of Richard Max Perrot, 4, long missing since April, was found in the Chicago River near his home. Neighbors and authorities had followed numerous tips and sightings, including a "thin man" lead, as Max Perrot urged the ongoing search for his son.
