FBI lists James Earl Ray as most wanted fugitive
Washington AP reports convict James Earl Ray, linked to the April 4 King assassination, placed on the FBI most wanted list after a fingerprint match to Eric Starvo Galt. Ray, a Missouri prisoner escaped in 1967, is described as a 40-year-old white man with a history of arrests and aliases. The FBI notes he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Woman Carrier Implements Route Training At Oshkosh Post Office
The first woman carrier for the Oshkosh Post Office Miss Dolores Kinney began her route today under training with regular mail carrier James Spanbauer. Despite bad weather, they delivered along South Park Avenue Oregon Street to 18th and back. Postmaster Raymond Novotny cited growing use of women in Wisconsin towns and noted equal pay and duties under the law.

Fatality Toll Rises to 285 in Wisconsin Crash
The Associated Press reports Wisconsin highway deaths climbed to 285, surpassing 221 a year earlier. Duane Niesen of Route 2, Dane, died after his car collided with a Madison police squad car on the East Side. Officer James L. Hudson, 24, sustained chest injuries and was hospitalized. A Madison woman also died Friday from injuries from an April 6 accident.
