Grono Trustees Report On Year s Work In Orono Village
Douglas Simpson of the Orono Police Trustee Board outlined major village projects over recent years including a water system, a new fire engine, a complete street lighting system, a new dump site, a Post Office, tree planting and grass cutting, and updates to the Orono Hydro System. He hopes the 1963 road program to enhance the village will be completed. Floyd Nicholson of the Hydro noted a $25,000 debenture request but aims to avoid it with tightening budgets. The Hydro manager reported the system in good shape and noted underground cable work on Division Street to spring 1968 and the need for fourteen Mercury vapor street lights to finish the lighting program.

Library Receives Further Gift From Clarke Township Board
Clarke Township Library Board met Tuesday with Librarian Mrs. Robinson reporting 1186 books loaned in October 1967 versus 1002 in 1966. They may store local history, heard on Kingston seminar, and noted $595.49 from Renwick Estate plus accrued interest for a future building fund.
