Tragic No 9A Crash Claims Three Toronto Men
Three men from Toronto die in a No 9A Highway pileup near Liverpool clover-leaf when O Boyle and Scherb cars crash into a westbound truck owned by Kirk and Sons. Earl Kirk, 53, truck driver, also dies. David Steinburg, 64, injured. The incident occurred about 3:45 am in fog. investigators, police, and ambulance crews, plus provincial constables, responded.

Halloween Party Held By Cavanville Pupils
Miss Kathleen Roushorn spent the Hallowe'en end with her parents at Queens O10. Miss Rousboom and pupils held their party on Friday afternoon. Several firm here attended anniversary services at Newcastle on Sunday. Miss Ruth Barker of Marlbank visited with Mr and Mrs R J Hancock over the weekend. The community was saddened by the death of Melville Graham in Oshawa hospital. The funeral was held from the family residence on Tuesday afternoon with interment in Newtonville Cemetery.

About thirty citizens attended the Orono Amateur Athletic Association meeting on Monday October 30. Officers for 1950 51 were elected. The treasury showed 61.72 from winter sports with 50 expenses and 35 receivable, plus a 100 draft to the Orono Park Board. Summer sports ran a 4.00 deficit. Debate covered intermediate softball and other junior senior sports and cross ties with separate treasuries. New officers were President J Gamey, Vice President Leroy Hamilton, Treasurer Mrs L Bourne, Secretary Fred Lycett. A rink operation plan was discussed with no concrete proposals.

104th Birthday Celebrated by Peterboro County Elder
Mrs. Margaret Ashby Jennings, Peterboro County’s oldest resident, turned 104 on October 29 at her daughter’s home in Belmont Lake. Born in Lincoln England she later moved to Canada with her family. She has eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and lives with her daughter Mrs Eara King.
