More than twenty members and juniors met in Orange Hall for the May meeting. Films on Rideau Canal boat trips and ringed neck pheasant were shown. Urge for Free Chest X Rays to Curb TB in Clarke Township
Clarke Township residents are invited to a free chest X ray clinic next Monday. Volunteers have distributed cards to individuals aged 12 and over. high school students will be scanned at their schools. Results are confidential, with only the family physician notified. Cub Father And Son Night Draws Near-Record Turnout
The Orono Cubs held a Father and Son Banquet at the United church on Friday evening with close to one hundred attendees. Cub masters and mothers organized the event which featured displays of projects from toy making to nature collections and a menu including turkey and pie. Guest speaker Mr Akers of Oshawa emphasized sportsmanship and youth education through cubbing and scouting, praising local leaders and urging parental support for future packs.
