The Women's Institute met at Mrs Garland Cathcart's home on Wednesday April 4 with Mrs Norman Kennedy presiding. They adopted minutes and heard the treasurer's report, discussed the district executive meeting April 8 30 at Mrs Emerson Nestleton, planned a Korea ox for April 27 in the Sunday School room, and studied Extension Services for Homemaker proposing Oven Meals then Supper Dishes. Mrs Reg Elliott spoke on the White Elephant Booth for the hospital bazaar and apron material. Officers were re elected with Mrs Jack Stapleton replacing Miss Hilda Bell as director. The meeting closed with God Save the Queen and a lunch hosted by Mrs Cathcart and Mrs Turansky. Spring flowers decorated the church.

Fellowship Circle Met In Newtonville Church

The April 22 salvage drive collected 1480 lbs cast iron 400 lbs steel scrap 150 lbs rags 9640 lbs paper for a 47.97 net. Thanks go to town couriers, curb sitters, and truckers. another collection may occur in two to three months. The Town Hall dance Friday features Lou Dowell's Orchestra with P A system and a generous lunch.
