The Orono Amateur Athletic Association and the Orono Figure Skating Club held an auction Friday at the Orono Municipal Building raising 246 dollars. Town residents donated items through door to door canvassing for a one hundred percent profit to support minor sports in Orono.

The Orono Fish and Hunt Club held its annual dance and draw at Oddfellows Hall to a profitable result of over $68. Prize winners included Colin Richardson Pontypool for a spinning rod, Mrs. C Knox Orono for a casting rod, and Mr. Earl Taylor Orono for a box of spinning lures. Rifle trophies went to Gordon Watson senior intermediate to Marshall Keast and junior to Terry Carleton. Gerry Duvall won the pistol trophy. About 75 to 100 attendees enjoyed round and square dancing with local musicians.
