Fire Destroys Farm House East of Orono
A Saturday blaze totally destroyed a brick farm home of Mr and Mrs Laverne Patterson east of Orono on Clarke fifth concession. Neighbours stood by as the interior burned and contents were lost except for a sewing machine a desk and a few chairs. The car was moved away from the house. Mrs Patterson discovered the fire returning from the barn and tried to enter the kitchen as flames blocked entry. A ceiling collapsed shortly after discovery. Francis Cowan provided a trailer for the family while arrangements are made for housing.
