New Students Expected for Orono High Grade 9
Principal W. W. Watt estimates forty nine new Grade 9 students will enroll at Orono High School this September, with current Grade 9s possibly promoted after June exams. Watt and new principal E. G. Witherspoon visited twelve area elementary schools to draft September timetables and map bus routes. They spoke to students about study subjects and co curricular activities awaiting in high school.

Donald Staples of the Orono Chamber of Commerce presented Cobbledick a $25 prize. a district Horticultural Society picnic drew 187 delegates at Fenelon Falls with 50 Orono attendees including tours, a chicken dinner, and a boat ride.
