South Durham 4H Corn Silage Club Meets in Bowmanville
The first regular meeting of the South Durham 4H Corn Silage Club was held on Tuesday May 21 at 8 00 p m at Department of Agriculture in Bowmanville. President Murray Yellowlees opened the meeting after pledges and roll call. Summer Assistant John Murphy lectured on soil composition and management and Jim Rickard spoke on soil texture. Senior and junior divisions split as Rickard discussed crop records and Murphy outlined the 1968 senior project. Secretary John Larmer read the minutes and the meeting adjourned.

Funeral service for Mrs Wm Moffat held in Orono church
Kendal area residents attended the funeral of Mrs Ruth Moffat once Ruth Squair of Salem. She taught at Morrish and lived on the fifth line after marrying Wm Moffat. An accident left her wheelchair bound twenty two years ago, yet she faced it with cheerfulness. Sympathies are extended to her husband and family.
