Opening Of Millbrook Provincial Reformatory Draws Four Thousand
Four thousand people attended the opening ceremony of the Millbrook reformatory on Saturday afternoon as a silver key marked the official launch of North America’s most modern close custody facility. Dignitaries including Hon. John W. Foote and Col. F Patterson presided while the plant’s three million dollar steel and concrete fort rose on a 14 acre hilltop. The event featured a bronze plaque, prayers, and guided tours as the first inmates are anticipated mid June.
