Orono Red Cross Plans Summer Water Safety Classes
The Orono Red Cross reports a total of 768.10 collected in Clarke Township for local and Canadian Red Cross work. Of this, 350.00 goes to the Canadian Red Cross, the rest funds local projects including vitamin capsules for public school children at 300, a 150 summer swimming program, and 177 for emergency needs such as fire victims and dressings. Plans peg the course for July to mid August in afternoon sessions after dinner to teach water safety to township children with Mrs W E Armstrong and Mrs B Rutherford as contacts.
