Fire at Caesarea Kenosha House Claims Proprietor Wife
The Kenosha House at Caesarea gutted in an early morning blaze. Proprietor Mr Harlan and guests fled as flames scorched the verandah and front of the hotel. Mrs Matilda Harlan died inside the building while attempting to reach a strongbox. Funeral held at Port Perry with internment at Nestleton Cemetery.

Obituary of Arthur T. Allen of Orono 1952
Arthur Thomas Allen of Orono died June 16 1952 in Oshawa General Hospital aged 68 after a serious operation. He was born in Enterprise and married Margaret Moffatt in 1905, worked on the C N R expansion, ran a threshing business, a saw mill, and operated a trucking business in Orono since 1980. Funeral June 18 conducted by Rev John Kitchen with pallbearers O W Rolph Wm Armstrong Percy Lunn Percy Patton Archie Lunn and Harry Mercer. Interment at Orono Cemetery. He leaves wife Margaret three sons Harold M Ernest and Wm Vance two daughters Lillian Kathleen and Valera Margaret two sisters and ten grandchildren two great grandchildren.

Jeanne Isobel Forrester and Donald Henry Staples wed in Orono on July 12 1952 with a ceremony led by Reverend John Kitchen.
