Orono Village Clock Returns After Overhaul In Toronto
The Orono Village clock, missing for weeks, was seen on its tower Saturday afternoon. It underwent a complete overhaul in Toronto and is expected to keep accurate time, a fixture for twenty five years. The village plans a repaint of the tower this year to complete restoration.

Orono Red Cross Holds Annual Meeting in 1956
The Orono Branch of the Canadian Red Cross Society met Monday afternoon. Seven members attended at the President's home as officers and auditors were selected for 1956. The Treasurer reported 212.75 on hand and plans to continue Cod Liver Oil Capsule distribution and the Water Safety Program.

New Scotch-light Signs Erected at Village Entrances
The Department of Highways has installed Scotch-light signs at the south, north and Station Street approaches into the Village. In the spring the department will add guard rails at all three entrances to further mark the Village entrances.

Orono United Church Reports Strong Year at Meeting
Orono United Church held its annual congregational meeting on Wednesday. Rev. John Kitchen presided as reports from the Session Boards WMS WA CGST Explorers YPU WC T U and Choir were given, with the Sunday School’s strong showing. The Orono Band drew a large crowd for a Saturday skating party at the Orono Rink. Proceeds of about forty dollars benefited minor youth sports.
