Millbrook Looks to Join Conservation and Tourism Efforts

At a Millbrook Chamber of Commerce meeting president Gordon Clifford said a delegation with Mr Carruthers approval will discuss village concerns with ministers about land and natural resources. Tobacco Growers Appeal Halts Licences Cut

The Ontario Food Products Marketing Board held a reserved decision on whether the Ontario Wine Cured Tobacco Growers Marketing Board can revoke licences of farmers who refuse to reduce surplus tobacco. The deadline of August 1 for licence revocation was stayed after growers appealed, with all but four having cut surplus crops.

Beetles To Perform At Fair Contest In Orono

The Beatles act will headline the Amateur Contest at the Orono Fair sponsored by the Durham Central Agricultural Society. Thirteen entries have filed for auditions, with contestants from Whitby to Port Hope and Peterborough to Newcastle. Port Hope to Hold Meeting on Courtice High School Wing

Reeve Everson announced a September 16 meeting in Port Hope to discuss a technical wing for Courtice High School and how to finance it. Attendees include mayors reeves and deputy reeves from eight Durham County districts, plus school board officials. Construction planned spring 1965 to September 1966, modeled after Port Hope High School wing.
