District President Visits Orono Women's Institute
The Orono Women's Institute held its regular August meeting in the council chamber with Mrs. E. Dean presiding. West Durham District leader Mrs. S. E. Werry of Solina spoke on the opening ode and on the Institute motto Mother in conjunction with For Home and Country, with a garden quiz contest producing a four-way tie.

Churchill Receives Freedom of Bristol and Honors

A family gathering honored Navigator LeRoy Brown recently returned from overseas with Lieut Brown's birthday celebrated at Kurv Inn. Park Street Church thanks Dr McCulloch for gifts of gladioli from his garden used to decorate the church and for visiting ill and shut-in villagers.

Fitting Service Marks End Of Hostilities
