John Weismandel Pioneer of 1849 Dies at 76
John Weismandel a renowned 1849 pioneer died Thursday evening at 1200 Eleventh Street after a long tuberculosis illness. German native aged 76 he arrived in Oregon in 1849 and lived in Clackamas County most of his life. He is survived by a widow and three children Mrs J H Howard of Portland Mrs Denial Lyons and John Weismandel of this city. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from his residence with the Wheheno Tribe Improved Order of Red Men attending. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
