Oregon Governors declare fair opening day state and region wide

June 1 is declared all day in Oregon and Washington by Governors Chamberlain and Mead. Portland stores asked to close to let workers visit the fair. Schools closed. Oregon Cities week proclaimed with openings featuring a parade, Van couver Barracks soldiers, cadet corps, Innes' Band, and administration bands. The event ends with a 100 gun salute and Star Spangled Banner. Mortgage loans offered at lowest rates in Oregon City.

Opposition at Work in Oregon City Parade and Prizes

Promoters plan a grand Fourth of July parade led by J A Carpal with Mayor Sommer and council members in carriages. Marriage of Roch Jones and John P. Roehl

Roch Jones and John P. Roehl wed Saturday in this city with Mrs EB Jones as a participant. Reverend J R Landsborough of the First Presbyterian church officiated. The couple left for a short honeymoon to Salem and will reside in West Oregon City where Mr Roehl runs a grocery business.

Sudden Death of Molalla Infant Leota Robbing

Leota Robbing, one year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Robbing of Molalla, died suddenly Monday night from acute indigestion after being put to bed. Her parents found her dead on returning home about 10 o’clock. she had vomited curdled milk. Funeral held Wednesday at Molalla. Mr Robbins a prominent local merchant.
